Ryan Mitchell, a senior at Davis Senior High in California, won the Division 1 boys varsity race at the subsections at the CIF-Sac-Joaquin Section at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds at Frogtown in Angels Camp. Mitchell covered the 3-mile raincourse layout in 15:08.1 to help Davis secure sixth overall with 148 points to advance to the Nov. 12 section final at the Willow Hills course in Folsom.
